The Way Things Are Now

Isn’t it odd, how when we are pushed to a place of great discomfort or when we become distanced from each other and our normal is nothing but a very recent memory of what no longer is…we suddenly feel the need to share. Or maybe it is just me.

Going through these dramatic life changes, overwhelming amounts of work, then suddenly no work for months, as well as health challenges during a time when one need to be healthy has pushed me to a limit where I’ve needed a pause button. As you’ve noticed though, there is no pause button, especially right now, so I’ve turned to what I know best; photography and maybe a few words.

After weeks of not shooting personally, I began picking up my film cameras (a Pentax K100 and a Hasselblad 500cm) along with taking pics on my iPhone in attempt to be minimalistic.

I recall back in 2010 when the economy was crashing around us, and neighbors were moving out of their homes in the middle of the night with everything they could take, including cabinets and countertops from their newly built homes. So many creative minds then where blogging, or began blogging. I too started a blog and began shooting with a SX-70 and a box of expired Polaroid film I’d ordered off eBay. Of course now it seems an archaic way to share, but I thought I’d put my little piece out there for the next few weeks, giving you a view of what I see around me, which is no longer weekly weddings, engagements and family sessions.

Please feel free to share, or comment. Let me know what you are doing to connect and keep centered in this uncertain time.
